Come lay with me a while,
just long enough,
for our heavy heart beats to slow,
and sync together
just long enough,
to release the breath that we’ve been holding,
for so long
just long enough,
to separate slightly,
from this swirling life and world
just long enough,
to sink into one another,
just slightly,
slightly slightly,
just enough,
to permeate a few layers
of our being,
touch on what is beneath,
just enough,
to settle the tremble,
that lies underneath
just slightly.
Come lay with me a while.
